The Warm Heart in the Winter

That night the cold winter wind was blowing through my skin, but my heart warmed up at that time. We students who have been waiting in the open bus stop bearing the coldness were kindly asked to step inside the bus by the young bus driver even though he knew that some of us were waiting for other bus of different destination. When i stepped in, he greeted me, "Samui desune....(It is such a winter out there, isn't it?)". Inside the bus, he kindly engange the front passengers in light friendly conversation, speaking of his intention to forward his idea to improve the bus stop to accomodate waiting passengers in the winter to the bus office. I could see his great concern to us through the kind way he talked. I personally felt shitashii(close in the heart, friendly feeling) towards him. He treated us strangers as if we were his close best friends.
Such concern to us strangers who were nothing more than his ordinary passengers touched my heart. I was impressed, he was the first Japanese i encountered who have the courage to do something out of the ordinary way for the good sake of others (most Japanese are very hesistant of doing something out of the ordinarily done way). It was a mere simple thing that he had done for us, but it was a great love that comes along within his deed.

A two man might be doing the same exact thing, what who knows what lies inside their heart and thought? If we realize more that love surrounds our life and blesses us from moment to moment, would not we be living in gratefulness and joy?Let us fill our life with love. It might be a small thing that we do to others, but through love, it may mean much enough to change one's idea of the life he is living in.
