The New Taxi Driver

September 4th 2008 15:03

For there was a job that she could not just leave, Susi had to work till late in her office. When she was done, she stopped a taxi to bring her home.

"To 'KebonJeruk' sir". The taxi driver just nodded, along the way there was no any talk between the taxi driver and Susi, maybe because Susi had been exhausted working all day that day.

Twenty minutes was filled with total silence, when Susi suddenly remembered she had not brought with her enough money to pay the taxi fare. Susi then tapped on the taxi driver wanting him to stop there somewhere for her to withdraw cash from ATM.

But right when she just tapped the taxi driver on the shoulder, he suddenly jerked his wheel right and left screaming hysterically, until the taxi stopped itself when it crashed on a tree.

Fortunately Susi and the taxi driver was alright and did not suffer any significant damage. He then apologized deeply to Susi.

"Sorry Maam, i hope you are alright. I was too shocked when you tapped my shoulder, maam!!"

"Huh? Are you serious? I was just tapping your shoulder."

"Well, as a matter of fact, this is my first day being a taxi driver maam."

"What was your previous job then?"

"I worked as driver for the DECEASED HOUSE."

When we find ourselves attached deeper and deeper to fixed way of doing things or how things work, we'd find it more difficult to release ourselves from it.
