Jingqing Daofu of the Tang Dynasty said to his disciple:
"What is the sound outside?"
"The sound of the rain."
"Sentinent beings are inverted. They lose themselves and follow after things."
"Teacher, What is the right way to feel?"
"I am the sound of raindrops."

One has to be one with phenomena, with no distinction between the two. Not even the sound of a raindrop is excluded. Thus two become one and there is complete insight.
