Giving and Receiving
December 26th 2006 18:07
In Palestine, there flowed 2 seas, but very different from each other. The one called Galilea Sea, is a big lake with clear drinkable water. Fishes live inside and human being can swim in the lake. It is also surrounded by green beautiful gardens and farms. Many people build their house next to it. It was even said that in the past Jesus sailed on the lake several times.
On the other hand, the other sea is called the Dead Sea. As how it was named, anything inside it is dead. The water is very salty that when drunk by people, it would just make them even more thirsty. There are no fishes in the lake, nor does anything lives around it. Nobody wants to live next to it, for its bad smell.
One very interesting point about them, is that there exist a river that flows to Galilea Sea and Dead Sea. The Jordan River flows in to the Galilea Sea and flows out from the bottom of the lake. The lake use the water flowed from Jordan River and pass the water to other lakes for their own use.
Jordan River flows in to the Dead Sea as well, but never flows out. So what makes the two different?
Simple, the first lake receives and gives. The second one only receives and selfishly keeping it for itself. That is the thing that make it dead as the Dead Sea, for it receives, but do not give.
