forest path
Yen Siau, a 7 year old boy was a smart, wise and devoted child. He had a father who doesnt care for his parents (Yen Siau's grandfather) and intended to kill him. In the mind of Mr.Yen, he thought, "This old bastard only knows how to eat and drink, can not work at all. Having him living here with me will just burden me, i'd better desert him at the mountains."

So he made up a bamboo cage. When he found his father asleep, he put him into the bamboo cage and brought him up to the mountains. When Yen Siau returned home, he couldnt find his grandfather, he cried endlessly seeking here and there. Siau Yen's mother said to his son, "Your grandfather had grown old already, so your father regard him as a burden, therefore he brought your grandpa to the mountains to be eaten by wild beasts."
Yen Siau immediately ran to the mountains and searched for his grandpa. Upon meeting, both the grandpa and the grandson cried hugging each other. Yen Siau comforted his grandpa and promised to fetch him back home.
Yen Siau brought back the empty bamboo cage, his father were confused upon seeing that. Yen Siau said, "This bamboo cage is for daddy when dad grew old later. Then i will desert dad to the mountains." His father was very shockedd hearing what his son said. Then his father immediately went to the mountains with Yen Siau to fetch the grandfather. Since then, Mr. Yen was very devoted and respect his father till the end of his age.
